Dynamic Risk Assessment (DRA)
Conducting Dynamic Risk Assessments (DRA) is a crucial tool to enable you to maintain a continual awareness of your surroundings and potential threats.
It is important that you develop this skill, by regular practice until it becomes second nature to you. Following on from your basic training, you should ensure that you are constantly evaluating your work space; Who is about? What is their proximity to you? If something 'kicked off' where would you be best placed? Where/Who is your nearest support? What potential weapons are available? Where is the exit? How can I reduce the risk? - clear away the bottles/glasses, intervene early with some friendly conversation, be polite and professional at all times.
