The most important thing in the event of an accident or injury is that you know your role and limitations. DON'T try and give first aid if you have had no training, as the potential legal consequences will far outweigh your good intentions. Know where the first aid points are; who the qualified duty first aider is, and who to contact in an emergency. Best of all get yourself on a Basic First Aid Course at least. If not for work then do it for your family - what you learn might save their life one day.
