Gt. Yarmouth Door Supervisors tells National Doorwatch of the disappointment they feel with the lack of communication and support they recieve from their local Police! A chill wind is blowing in Gt. Yarmouth as Door Supervisors feel left out in the cold."Gt. Yarmouth Door Supervisors just want some basic respect for the job they do from the Police!" This comment was echoed by both Mark and Scott, the respective owners of Hitech Security and Elite, whom are both still actively working on the front-line. It was also a view supported by their Door Supervisors! One, who doesn't want to be named in fear of reprisal, told of how the same Police Officers checked his badge every week - never spoke to him as a human being - just looked at the badge and disappeared. "What's the matter with them? We're both out here in the freezing cold, dealing with the same people - surely they can say hello!" Inspector Nick Cheshire, who was out working that night, said good working relationships with the Door Supervisors were important and the local forum they had was a sign of good partnership working. If this is the case then how come their is clearly such a difference between their views of the existing situation! Perhaps the answer is the frustrations both groups face with the system. The good news is that Gt. Yarmouth Door Supervisors are going to get together to discuss forming their own Doorwatch. This will enable them to have their own voice and be taken seriously by the various partnership committees dealing with the effects of the Night-Time Economy.
